Week 7 of Marathon Training

Week 7 is completed! I had to tweak the training plan a little, as I was going to be flying all day Saturday.  I decided to do my Saturday run on Friday, and just double up on that day.  They were both easy and felt pretty good.  

4 miles at an easy pace(10:18min/mile average)

Speedwork: 8 x 600m, with 400m recovery. (7 miles, including 1 mile warm up, 1.2 mile cool down)
Splits: 2:46, 2:46, 2:46, 2:47, 2:47, 2:44, 2:43, 2:38

Rest day!

5 mile tempo, with 1 mile warm up and 1 mile cool down. (9:08min/mile average)
Splits: 10:31, 8:57, 8:54, 8:45, 8:46, 8:26, 9:33

AM: 4 miles easy pace (10:11 min/mile average)
PM: 6 miles easy pace on treadmill (10:04 min/mile average)
strength exercises: planks, push ups lunges

No run (run completed on Friday)

10 miles easy pace (9:44 min/mile average)

Total weekly miles: 38
